Welcome to the MAcc Graduate Assistant Application Process!

Please make sure you read these instructions before beginning the application.

Instructions:

Before beginning this process, please keep in mind that this application does not save. Once you begin each form,  you will need to complete the form or lose what you have entered. Keep in mind that you will be required to complete a one page (double spaced) statement of purpose describing your academic plan and anticipated professional career.

Student Application Form:

  1. Select which GA position you are applying for
  2. Upload your Statement of Purpose
    • Make sure that this is one page and double spaced
  3. Fill out the rest of the MAcc GA Student Form (make sure to press “Submit” button before moving on to the Student Referrals form).
  4. You should receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not please re-submit or contact Dr. Cindy Seipel.

Student Referrals Form:

You will need three professor references in order to complete this form. It is recommended that your references are accounting professors.  Please be advised, Dr. Cindy Seipel cannot be used for a reference for the GA process.

  1. Fill out your Name, Email, and NMSU ID#
  2. For each of your three references, fill out your referrals’ e-mail addresses along with any comments for them. They will receive an e-mail with a referral request form for them to fill out.
    • The comments sections is for any additional information. This can be anything that you would like to remind your reference to keep in mind while filling out their reference or a couple of sentences thanking them for their time.
  3. Select whether you would like a confidential or non-confidential reference.
    • Confidential means that you waive the right to see your reference. Non-Confidential means that you retain the right to see your reference. It is customary for this to be confidential, and some faculty have a policy of only providing a confidential referral.
  4. Make sure to press “Submit” when you are finished.
  5. You should receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not please re-submit or contact Dr. Cindy Seipel.

Summer Application Form

Before applying for a summer GA  position you must either be a MAcc GA previously or have submitted both the Student Application Form and the Student Referrals Form.

Keep in mind that summer GA positions are NOT guaranteed.
